Today we mainly focused on getting the last bits and pieces of preparation ready for events. We also rehearsed the way we will scout at our first competition in Gibraltar, and prepared ourselves for competition with driving practice. We also began making posters to show our spirit for our first competition of the year! It was very exciting and a good way to show our new members just how exciting competitions are. Everyone also received a packing list for competition, as well as room assignments for the hotel we will be staying at. We can’t wait to see and hang out with other teams! We also finished our buttons and worked very hard to make sure that other teams get one if they would like. -Alayna Robinson

It was the last day of build season! On Monday we had our sponsor night, which was our way of showing gratitude towards our sponsors and to introduce our friends/family to our robot. Again, thank you sponsors and others for coming!
We are currently preparing for our Gibraltar event held from March 1-3! We have custom tape measures to give out in the pits, as well as buttons. All of us are very excited for the upcoming competitions, and can’t wait to compete. Our team also made custom spirit wear to wear outside of competitions, so we can remember all of the fun we have had so far in our season. -Alayna Robinson Tuesday is our last day of build season! Moving forward, we as a team have been putting together our bumpers and making our own version of power cubes. It was a lot of fun to work with fellow students and making build season great. Tomorrow is our coaches birthday! To celebrate, we got him a cake. Happy early birthday, Mr. Burdette! Today was also our team photo! We are all very happy and ready for our future competitions. Today we have been calibrating our scouting, as well.
Monday, February 19, is our open house from 6:30-8:30pm. It’s one of our ways to thank our sponsors for helping us with our season and for our parents to come see what we accomplished so far, as well. -Alayna Robinson It's exciting to think about our future competitions! Mechanics is currently restringing our competition bot, CAD worked on the adjustment of parts, controls tested different types of autonomous, and chairman’s/business worked at finding our future button designs and our materials list for competitions.Today was a very good and productive day for our us. We are proud to have them a part of our team and love how much work everyone is putting into the team!

There are only four build days left to complete our robot. Mechanics are working hard to put final touches and make sure everything is nice and fine. Control dealt with a bit of a setback with the wiring, with the practice bot being wired to perfection but the competition bot having slight issues. Controls are hoping to wrap up any final issues they are having with the competition robot and make sure everything runs smoothly. CAD is done and is now helping mechanics tighten up any remaining nuts and screws. Business is working on their presentation, practicing it and making sure it's top perfection while working on presentation for the open house on Monday, February 19th, starting at 6:30PM . These days are going to be tough.

We are 3 weeks from our first event and mechanics are our number 1 priority. Currently everyone is working hard to build, debug, and make sure our robots are running. Presenters for the chairman essay and video are working hard on building and refining their presentation, which will be shown to the judges, while completing task such as a sponsor night invitation and a budget chart. The CAD team is completely done and are working as scouts and helping hands for the mechanics team. The mechanics are working hard on the robot which paid them off because near the end of the day the robot was almost done, final touches are still being made. Controls are contributing their part to the robot with helping to wire and fix issues with the autonomous mode. Overall each team is making great progress and while we are closer to our first event, our robot is getting closer to be done too.
We are so proud of our Chairman's team for submitting the Chairman's essay and video for the first time in team history! We cannot wait to share this work with our supporters at our Open House on February 19th at Lakeview High School. It was a long road for this team as they were working from scratch with limited documentation of many of our proudest accomplishments. They took all the feedback that was provided and really pulled through with great work!
A snow storm is moving in tonight but our team continues to work through the regular build day. They were pretty excited when Mr. Prewitt, the superintendent, declared a snow day for tomorrow. While we love a day off, we will be excited to get back in the shop on Saturday. We are excited to get the payload and buddy bar mounted to the robot soon, and we are thankful for Rosler, one of our sponsors who has provided an amazing part for the payload. We did weigh out many of our components today and discovered that we may need to reduce the weight of our robot. She is very robust and strong! This Is How We Robot. Working hard as we approach the end of build season! Mechanics has been putting a lot of time into finishing the construction of the elevator system for the competition robot. The climb arms and winch are also in development and we hope to have them mounted soon. CAD continues to fine tune some of the elements in the super chassis that will be mounted in the coming days to both the practice and competition robot. Controls continues to work on the autonomous modes and programming some of the finer details of the super-chassis. Chairman’s/Business is working towards finishing and uploading our Chairman’s video.
Alayna Robinson Our FFL Jr. team #11289 or the Mingis Brook Droplets finished their season today with a party, and to show their thanks, they gave our student mentors a T-Shirt! We were so proud to have been able to watch their season unveil.
Today, mechanics is going to assemble the final pieces of our intake, and prepare its wheels and belts so we will be able to drive and practice for the up coming competetions. we would not be able to do this without the help of our other sub teams because This Is How We Robot. |
