Our team is returning home from the Detroit World Championships to pack up the robot for the last time of this season. We spent the weekend in Detroit with 400 other teams from across the globe as we battled it out to determine the champions. We are so happy for Michigan teams 2767 from Kalamazoo and 27 from Clarkston who won the world championship with their alliance.
We applaud our drive team and pit crew for making our robot do the best if its abilities which led us to rank 53 in our division, the Daly field. The scouts in the stands played a vital role in helping our team improve throughout the event as well as providing data for our team to focus our goals for next year. Though we didn't make it very far competition was a lot of fun and it was a great experience for everyone. We were able to meet Governor Snyder in our pit as well as the Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos.
While we were there we also got the chance to participate in several seminars hosted by top teams in the country to improve our skills to help us with our upcoming season. These seminars included increasing female engagement on the team, student leadership, coding, and mechanics. We can't wait to see what they have learned when we meet next for our annual wrap up meeting.
Also this weekend was the last time we got to spend with the seniors on our team, they have made a huge impact on Q Branch and will be missed dearly. Thank you to our mentors, sponsors, coaches, and parents for allowing us the opportunity to go to world's and providing us with a moment none of us will forget.
It's been a wonderful season and we can't wait to see what next year brings with Destination: Deep Space!
